Inspire the next generation of book creators and dreamers
Andrew would love to inspire the next generation of book lovers at your school. He’ll celebrate books, imagination and creative expression with students. Each session is tailored to the class age groups. Andrew would love to come and read Snuffy to your class to help them develop their love of books and reading and to boldly use their own creativity.
Help your class learn about writing and creativity
Your class will learn about writing and being creative when they participate in the interactive sessions. They’ll discover they have great ideas and can use a few simple tips to help them improve their stories. You can also book a workshop. Have a look at Andrew’s children’s writing workshop where children will get practice in using writing techniques and more importantly, have lots of fun!
The sessions
Andrew has sessions tailored for Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 classes. Your students will learn about things like how picture books go from idea to a product on the shelf, about how they can use their creativity and unique skills in life and learn some practical tips in creating their best stories by using their imagination, their unique experiences and interests and combining it with storytelling techniques.
Andrew is happy to suggest recommend some sessions for you. Andrew also has a combined author / illustrator visits with Snuffy’s illustrator Jenni Goodman if you’d like your kids to understand the teamwork behind making a picture book and learn both writing and illustration techniques and tips.
Andrew will visit your school in Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, Newcastle and Sydney. But also can visit interstate or regional schools, so contact Andrew and he’ll try to make it work for you!
Andrew uses the Australian Society of Authors rates of pay for school visits.
